For over 20 years I have been visiting Japan regularly 2-3 times a year, and that is how I came into contact with Sharaku and Hokusai. I was so impressed by the woodblock prints that I bought some for my own collection. Especially in the Corona period, when I can't travel, I miss Japanese culture.Sharaku is the third woodblock image I have created in my minimal Pop Art design. The colours used make it look highly modern and yet timeless.
