The size of the artwork is 100x120 cm plus 3cm surrounding plack pinewood floater frame. Artist Niall Campbell Strachan painted this dual- sided work as an homage to his musician background.
A-Side: The Kiss
"Taking its inspiration from the Gustav Klimt painting of the same name, my work affects an animalistic reimagining of the Austrian masters famous artwork. The animals gave an opportunity for me to skew the narrative.
Is it a warm embrace?
Are we witnessing the final moments of love?
Could it be dinner time?!
Of course it can be all or none of the above but as an artist it can be fun to poke that bear called Art History from time to time."

B-Side: Untitled
"This work plays out like a Grimms' Fairytale in my mind and is really a manifestation of anxiety. As the viewer we are positioned inside a spooky forest looking out towards our three protagonists cautiously entering the woods from the blue light of day only to find their progress thwarted by swan-like beasts. These gatekeepers could be read as a play on Cerberus guarding the underworld in Greek Mythology but here they are protecting the children from their inner demons."
