Art advisory for collectors who want to build something lasting. We curate, acquire and place works – from the world's leading contemporary artists to the gallery's own – with the same care we bring to building an exhibition.
A collection is not a shopping list. It is a point of view – and it should hold for decades.
Mankovsky Gallery works every day with artists, studios, collectors and other galleries. That proximity is what we bring to every mandate: knowing where a work comes from, what it means within the artist's practice and how it will be experienced in the room – today and in twenty years.
We work with a clear point of view and a long horizon. Sometimes that means advising against a purchase, waiting for the right work, or proposing something no one has seen yet. The task is to make the collection right, not to make it large.
Advice from inside the art world
As a gallery, we have access that an independent adviser rarely has. We can source works directly from the studios of the artists we work with, commission new pieces for a specific site, and show them in our galleries in Stockholm and Gothenburg before any decision is made.
Through our international network of galleries, collectors and auction houses, we also source works by the world's leading contemporary artists – including works that are not publicly available. Provenance, condition and documentation are reviewed before anything is proposed.
We are always clear about where a work comes from. You will know whether a proposal comes from one of the gallery's own artists or is a work we have sought out on your behalf.
From the first work to the whole collection
We take responsibility for the entire chain – selection, acquisition, framing, installation and the care of the collection over time. The same team follows the mandate from beginning to end.

Building a collection
We help you give your collection direction – whether it is your first work or a collection to be deepened. We define a focus, seek out works that strengthen it and stand beside you at every acquisition.

Acquisition and sourcing
We source works by internationally established artists through galleries, collectors and auction houses, and negotiate and complete the acquisition for you. Provenance, condition and authenticity are reviewed before anything is proposed.

Commissions
A work created for a particular wall, room or place in your collection. We match the commission with the right artist from the gallery's circle, set the parameters and follow the work from sketch to installation.

Framing, installation and care
Framing in our own workshop in Mölndal, transport, installation and hanging. Then documentation of the collection and ongoing review – when works need to move, be added to or be joined by new pieces.
